Newly renovated rooms in a Green Paradise

Elia has been welcoming guests since 1976. These family-run rooms have recently been renovated but still retain their original simple style.

They sit in a forest of green between the beaches of Glyfada and Mirtiotissa on Corfu's west coast. (It is only a five minute walk to either beach.) Mirtiotissa Beach is known as Corfu's unofficial nudist beach while Glydada is famous for its long stretch of golden sand and water sports and beach activities. (In the summer it hosts a major national beach-volleyball championship.) Close by is the traditional village of Vatos where you will find a couple of mini-markets.

This is a tranquil spot where you will quickly sink into a totally relaxed and relaxing holiday lifestyle.

The rooms themselves all sleep two persons with a choice of twin or double beds and are equipped with a fridge and shower/WC. Rooms have either a balcony or a terrace. There is a communal kitchen where you can make coffee or prepare a light breakfast. If you prefer, breakfast is served in the family's nearby taverna. There is ample parking.

Elia is proud of its Green credentials and strives to be eco-friendly. Solar panels heat its water which comes from a nearby spring. (Unusually for Corfu, you can drink our water straight from the tap.) The fields and gardens that surround Elia provide food not only for the family but also for their taverna. Fruit and vegetables; olives and olive oil; grapes and wine; herbs, eggs and nuts are all produced and harvested here.

It is planned to extend the farm over the next few years and to invite our guests to enjoy it with us. Already, guests who are here in late September and early October can join in the wine-making. Every two years olives are harvested and used in the production of our famous olive oil. Guests will be able to see this process as it happens.

Elia is gay friendly and is open from the beginning of May until the end of October. We speak English, German, Italian and Greek. We are happy to arrange transfers and car hire if required. Please contact us for further information.
